Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law
The Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law (RTKL), Title 65 P.S. sections 67.101 et seq., provides the public with access to government records. Union Township is committed to transparency and compliance with the RTKL. Requests must be submitted in writing using the official request form. The township will respond within five business days, either granting access, denying the request with explanation, or notifying the requester that additional time is needed.
Public records include documents, emails, meeting minutes, contracts, and other materials created or received by the township in the course of business. Certain records may be exempt from disclosure under state law, including records related to ongoing investigations, attorney-client privileged communications, and personal identifying information.
How to Submit a Request
To submit a Right-to-Know request, please complete the official Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Request Form and submit it to the township's Open Records Officer. Requests may be submitted in person, by mail, or by email.
